This paper summarizes selected research projects that include the following: use of lithographic techniques tofabricate a novel type of microfiltration membrane; use of electrochemically generated ironto coagulate surface water prior to microfiltration/ultrafiltration; effects of feed watertemperature on permeability and pore size distributions of thin-film composite nanofiltrationmembranes; and, mechanisms and control of bacterial fouling of microfiltration membranes.
