This powerpoint presentation provides information on San Antonio (Texas) Water System’s Residential Outdoor Water Use Pilot Programthat tracks the health of ahomeowner’s landscape (with help from theBexar County Master Gardeners) and theamount of water necessary to maintain orfurther enhance it over the course of a year.It’s goal is to reduce outdoor water use by theparticipating homeowners. An overview of the initial home evaluation is presented and includes:home water conservation audit is conducted;irrigation controller settings are recorded;irrigation system is checked zone by zone formaintenance and design conditions and tocalculate the amount of water used in gallonsper minute; and,complete inventory of plant material andlandscape characteristics are recorded byMaster Gardeners. Benefits for program participants are listed, along with project timeline and observation from initial home visits.
