Description
This slide presentation begins by outlining the Florida Water Conservation Initiative and how the Conserve Florida program grew out of the Statewide Water Conservation Program. Conserve Florida program elements include:standardized definitions and performancemeasures (March 2005);development of the water conservation web-based guidance document (May 31, 2006); and,water conservation clearinghouse (May 2006). The presentation focuses on the development of a web-based guidance document to serve as a technical tool to aid in the development ofutility-specific, goal-based water conservationprograms, including:a process to develop a utility water use profile;a process to develop water conservation goals;a process to select BMPs to achieve the goals; a process to evaluate performance; a process to report results;a process to adjust the program to improve results; and,an economic tool to help utilities develop cost-effectiveconservation programs.
