This powerpoint presentation outlines how Philadelphia’s Revenue Protection Program recovers uncaptured revenue by controlling apparent losses. The presentation presents the impacts of apparent losses, provides a chart of the International Water Association (IWA)/AWWA Water Balance Standardization of the Water Audit Method, and announces that new methods will be detailed in therevised AWWA M36 Publication (2008):Water Audits and Loss Control Programs. Statistics are provided from the 2005/2006 Philadelphia Water Audit, along with four components of managingapparent losses that include: customer meter accuracy; data transfer efficiency; data analysis error; and, unauthorized consumption.
