This paper discusses an innovative approach to treat membranewastes from a 20-mgd water treatment plant (WTP) currently under construction in Harrison, New York. The paperidentifies the waste streams generated by the cleaning processes and describes how theplant’s design provides flexibility for uncertainties associated with developments incleaning regimes.
